P2/Engagement for Senior Leaders looks at P2/engagement from the perspective of those in leadership and decision-making roles. It explores what makes P2/engagement meaningful; standards of practice; and the unique and critical role that senior leaders play in building a positive culture of P2/engagement that contributes to improved results, credibility and performance.


Course objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and consider how external and internal factors are impacting P2/engagement

  • Define P2/engagement as well as related terms and what makes it unique, and consider the role of leaders in P2/engagement

  • Identify what makes P2/engagement meaningful, and reflect on the impacts and results of collaboration and connection

  • Explore the critical role of leaders in building trust, working with power and influence and committing to the purpose of engagement and level of influence, through the lens of the Spectrum and the Profiles of P2/Engagement model

  • Explore the Practice Framework to identify the role of leaders in building engagement culture and in working with community and stakeholders

  • Explore the role of power and influence in challenging engagement contexts, and their impacts on our work and the perception of our organisation

  • Identify the steps on the development continuum for a culture of P2/engagement and assess organisation(s) against those steps; evidence and measures of how well we are doing

  • Discover the role of the leader in leading culture change in communities and organisations, and practice skills and knowledge
